OPEN HOUSE – November 8, 2008, 10AM – 12PM

Admission is open to all appropriately-aged children who reside in Philadelphia, PA.

Step 1
The Application for Admission, including the Parent/Guardian Statement must be submitted online or delivered in person to the Registrar, Debbie Sperbeck by 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2008. If you do not have access to a computer, you may download the application [116K PDF] and bring it in person to our lobby for submission. We will not accept applications sent by mail or fax. Please submit one application for each child you wish to enroll. We will not accept duplicate or multiple applications. If multiple applications are submitted, only the first application will be considered.

Step 2
Once the completed Application for Admission is received, you will receive a confirmation number and your child's name will be entered into our lottery, which will take place on Friday, December 12, 2008. Incomplete applications will not be processed or entered into the lottery.

Step 3
If your child is accepted into Russell Byers Charter School through the lottery, you will have 48 hours from the time you are notified of acceptance to submit the required documents. If these documents are not submitted within that time, your child's space will be given to another student.

Required Documents

Upon acceptance through the lottery, we require you to provide copies of the following documents:

• a copy of your child's birth certificate; and
• a copy of your child's Social Security card.
• We also need a photocopy of a document to establish proof of your residency in Philadelphia County. Proof of residence can only be established with one of the following:
  • a PECO or PGW bill, dated within 30 days of Dec. 12
  • a current vehicle registration card, or
  • a pay stub, dated within 30 days of Dec. 12.
